Avoiding Distractions

Memo to God's Elect To: God's Elect From: Pst. JK. Woodall, Ph.D. Subject: Staying Focused on Jesus and Avoiding Distractions Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, As we journey through our faith walk, it is crucial to stay vigilant against distractions that can draw our focus away from Jesus Christ. I would like to offer you some insights and reminders to help you stay centered on our Lord. The Dangers of Shiny Objects - External Allure : Just as the Nachash (often translated as "serpent" or "snake," but also meaning "shiny one") in the Garden of Eden distracted Eve with its cunning and appealing appearance, we too can encounter shiny objects that divert our attention from God's will. *"But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).* - Temple's Splendor : The gleaming splendor of the Second Temple wa

Morning Devotionals Episode 31 Transcript for JK Woodall Ministries

 Good morning!

Welcome to JK Woodall Ministries Morning Devotionals... This morning we're going to take a look at what happens when we lose focus on Jesus. What happens when we get distracted? There are a lot of distractions around us every single day. Sometimes we lose our focus and sometimes it’s only for a moment. Go and take out your Bibles. Go to Matthew 14:27-31.

27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”

28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

29 “Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Today meditate on God's Word. Let's stay focused on Jesus. Peter lost Focus, He was distracted by the wind, he got distracted by the big waves on the sea. Notice Jesus, even though the winds and and the waves were blowing and crashing against the boat... He was still walking on water. Peter himself even walked on the water after he got the command to come. But when he got frightened, when he got scared, when he lost that second of Faith, he lost his focus. He began to sink.

You won't lose your Faith this morning. You're going to stay strong and you're going to stay focused on Jesus. Let's pray... Heavenly Father, King of Kings, The Great. I Am, we Bless You this morning Lord, and we thank You... My Way Maker, we Bless You this morning Jehovah Nissi, we honor You this morning Lord, and we thank You.

For giving us the ability to stay focused. You gave us the command to come towards You. We are not afraid, because in You all things are possible and we are going to make it to the other side.

We're safe. Oh Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Mighty blessings this morning. We thank you for holding our hands for picking us up when we lost faith for even a moment.

Immediately Jesus reached out your hand to pick us up and we Bless and thank You for that this morning. These and all things we pray for in the Mighty name of Jesus Amen and Amen.

Go about your day today meditating on the Word and know that God himself gave the command to come to Him. Don't Be Afraid, don't get distracted, keep your eyes focused on Jesus.
