The Thief, Accountability, and Abundant Life

Title: Understanding John 10:10, Exodus 22, and the 8th Commandment In the Bible, several verses and teachings emphasize the importance of upholding God's commandments and living a righteous life. Among these are John 10:10, Exodus 22, and the 8th Commandment ("Thou shalt not steal"). Let's explore these passages and how they are connected to the concept of accountability and the promise of abundant life in Jesus. John 10:10 : This verse is part of a larger teaching where Jesus contrasts Himself as the Good Shepherd with the thief. Jesus says, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." Here, the thief can be interpreted as the enemy, including Satan, whose intentions are purely destructive and harmful. In contrast, Jesus brings life and abundance to those who follow Him. Exodus 22 : In this passage, God outlines laws for restitution and justice, including how to handle theft. A thief is held

God Sees (El Roi) HIS Children

God sees His children as precious and valued. He created each of us in His image and has a plan for our lives (Genesis 1:27). He loves us unconditionally and desires to have a personal relationship with us (John 3:16). God's love for us is demonstrated through His sacrifice of His son, Jesus, on the cross for our sins (John 3:16). Through belief in Jesus and accepting Him as our Lord and Savior, we are made right with God and become His children (John 1:12). As God's children, we are called to live a life worthy of our calling (Ephesians 4:1). This includes following Jesus's example of love, humility, and service to others (John 13:34-35). We are also called to be part of a community of believers, a church, where we can support and encourage each other in our walk with God (Hebrews 10:24-25). I encourage you to take the next step in your relationship with God by joining a church membership. Surround yourself with a community of believers who will support and encourage you

Power to Overcome evil

Christians... through faith in Jesus Christ, you have the power to overcome evil and conquer spiritual enemies. Bible verses that support this are Romans 8:37, "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us," and 1 John 4:4, "You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world." #YouHaveThePOWERinYou  #jkwoodallministries Www.jkwoodallministries.com

Bible Study Notes: The Call

The Call Mark 10:46-52 New Life Version Healing of the Blind Man 46  Then they came to the city of Jericho. When He was leaving the city with His followers and many people, a blind man was sitting by the road. He was asking people for food or money as they passed by. His name was Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus.  47  He heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He began to speak with a loud voice, saying, “Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me!”  48  Many people spoke sharp words to the blind man telling him not to call out like that. But he spoke all the more. He said, “Son of David, take pity on me.”  49  Jesus stopped and told them to call the blind man. They called to him and said, “Take hope! Stand up, He is calling for you! ”  50  As he jumped up, he threw off his coat and came to Jesus.  51  Jesus said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Lord, I want to see!”  52  Jesus said, “Go! Your faith has healed you.” At once he could see a

Euroclydon (Hurricane) Winds

Euroclydon Acts 27:13-14 KJV "And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained [their] purpose, loosing [thence], they sailed close by Crete." "But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon." This Euroclydon ( Hurricane ) was a terrible storm from the east. This bad weather had to do with the oncoming winter. It seemed they hung to the coastline for safety. This is a strong, dangerous windstorm greatly feared by those who sailed the Mediterranean. Acts 27:15 "And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let [her] drive." This is just saying there was no way of going the direction the captain wanted to go without capsizing the ship, so he just let the wind carry them where it would. They were moving, if not in the right direction. Extra Notes: The  trees  inside  Biosphere  2 grew rapidly, more rapidly than they did outside of the dome, but they also  fell  over

First mention of the twelve John 6:67 “Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?" Here is the first mention of the twelve in John’s gospel. Only five of them have been named thus far: John, Andrew, Peter, Philip and Nathanael. Perhaps this is John’s account of the confession of Simon Peter at Caesarea Philippi. John 6:68 “Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou has the words of eternal life." John 6:69 “And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, t
