Avoiding Distractions

Memo to God's Elect To: God's Elect From: Pst. JK. Woodall, Ph.D. Subject: Staying Focused on Jesus and Avoiding Distractions Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, As we journey through our faith walk, it is crucial to stay vigilant against distractions that can draw our focus away from Jesus Christ. I would like to offer you some insights and reminders to help you stay centered on our Lord. The Dangers of Shiny Objects - External Allure : Just as the Nachash (often translated as "serpent" or "snake," but also meaning "shiny one") in the Garden of Eden distracted Eve with its cunning and appealing appearance, we too can encounter shiny objects that divert our attention from God's will. *"But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ" (2 Corinthians 11:3).* - Temple's Splendor : The gleaming splendor of the Second Temple wa

Welcome to Your New Month of August 2023!

August 2023: A New Month, A New Beginning in Christ

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

As we step into the month of August 2023, I greet you with heartfelt joy and excitement for the new season that lies ahead. This month is not just another passing time on our calendars; it holds the promise of a new beginning in Christ.

In Isaiah 43:18-19, God urges us to forget the past and embrace the new things He is doing. He is making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. It is a season of divine intervention and restoration, where God's grace is ready to overflow into our lives.

2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us that if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old has passed away, and the new has come! Let us seize this moment to embrace our identity as children of God, renewed by His love and grace.

Revelation 21:5 declares that the One seated on the throne is making everything new! How comforting it is to know that our God is continuously at work, breathing new life into every aspect of our existence.

Ezekiel 36:26 promises that God will give us new hearts and spirits, removing the burdens of the past and equipping us for a future filled with purpose and hope.

The steadfast love and compassion of our Lord never fail, as beautifully expressed in Lamentations 3:22-23. Every morning, His mercies are new, and His faithfulness is unwavering. Let us anchor our souls in His love, knowing that His grace is more than sufficient for us.

Brothers and sisters, in this new beginning, I encourage each one of you to reflect on Psalm 51:10. Invite God to create in you a pure heart and a steadfast spirit, guiding you in His truth and righteousness.

Let us take action and respond to Acts 3:19's call to repentance and turning to God. Through repentance, we open our hearts to His transformative power and experience true refreshment and revival from the Lord.

Lastly, John 3:3 invites us to be "born again" and to experience the fullness of God's kingdom. I urge you to share this invitation with those around you, so they too can encounter the joy of a new life in Christ.

May this month of August 2023 be a season of remarkable growth, spiritual breakthroughs, and a deeper relationship with Jesus. Embrace the new beginning He offers, for it is a precious gift of grace.
